CLOSING REMARKS November 30, 2021
On behalf of all the management and staff members, we would like to make a few closing remarks at the end of this conference herein. To sum up, we started Day 1 with Opening Address by the President of our Association, followed by Plenary Session with the attendance of Professor Hamada of Yale University as a keynote speaker and five distinguished scholars on the theme: The Return of Macroeconomic Policy Coordination in the Age of Secular Stagnation. Afternoon session was devoted to Keynote Address by Professor Comanor of UCLA and UCSB, titled Pharmaceutical Markets in the United States and Japan. These sessions and addresses are timely with no doubt in the current economic and social circumstances.
On Day 2, thirteen Regular Sessions were offered online. In addition, pre-video recorded sessions had been open up until now for participants’ viewing. The number of presenters were counted to fifty in total. All these sessions were successfully completed thanks to all the participants and staff of the Conference. Program and Managing Committee Chairs would like to appreciate all the work done by the people toward the success.
Due to the pandemic, this year’s conference needed to be held in this irregular manor. We hope the next year would not be the case. The Association is planning to hold JEPA 2022 in Kobe. We look forward to seeing you all there in person with the hope that the current situation would have been ended by the time.
Again, thank you very much for your effort, cooperation, and contribution to the success of this year’s conference and see you next year in Kobe.

The Japan Economic Policy Association (JEPA) invites you the JEPA International Conference. The conference provides the regular sessions and the theme-related plenary sessions, and other ones. The 20th International Conference of the JEPA will be hosted as both on-site and online together fully online due to COVID-19 pandemic. It is intended for academics and scholars as well as policymakers or officials in governments and international institutions working in the fields of Economics and other related sciences. The presenters at the conference may consider applying their papers to the International Journal of Economic Policy Studies (IJEPS), an official refereed journal of the JEPA published by Springer. You are encouraged to submit papers for presentation at the conference.
